My plan is to get an auto-updating debian repository set up at gambas.one that anyone can use as easy as the launchpad for ubuntu method.

That would be great, Bruce. As I have mentioned previously, I'd like to switch to Debian. But, what is standing in my way is having a more up-to-date Gambas version available without having to compile it myself and, uggh, manage the installation with 'make'.

I did some research and found that it should be possible to have Gitlab create the .deb packages using a Debian-based runner (with gbWilly's configuration files) and then deploy the packages directly to packagecloud.io - all automatically, almost. To be triggered automatically on a new Tag requires a premium subscription.

I have, however, not had time to work out the practical details.
