There is nothing wrong with the instructions, they are correct.

And this part: "libmysqlclient-dev : Depends: libmysqlclient21 (=8.0.44-0ubuntu0.24.04.1)" indicates that either gambas or Ubuntu repository is the wrong version.
This part: "but 8.0.44-1ubuntu22.04 is to be installed" indicates the ubuntu 22.04 version is available from Ubuntu repo, so the jammy repo

This would mean that:
Ian used the proper instructions and if he is running Mint 22, somehow his Ubuntu sources seem to point to jammy instead of noble.

Check the file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/official-package-repositories.list if the links pointing to ubuntu point to noble, those of mint should point to wilma (see screenshot attached)
In that same folder you sould find the .list file pointing to osb repository that should contain "xUbuntu_24.04" in it's line (the OpenSuse implementation of a Debian list file is weird but working).

Hope that clarifies the situation. But there is a conflict in the repo sources causing trouble.
Was this a fresh install or an upgrade from jammy/mint 21?
