I'm here, I'm reading. But what should I add? All of you are right by 
saying:

1) Wayland is the future and should always be just the future. :-)

2) Everyone needs a full X11 toolkit that is not GTK+ or QT.

3) It's difficult to write a GUI toolkit. The difficult parts are: 
writing text, handling keyboard input, implementing the various desktop 
protocols based on X11 (clipboard, drag and drop, and so on...).

Then, as usual, talking is less useful than coding.
