How does CINNAMON is supposed to store passwords? Like Gnome, witht the

It's been my experience that Cinnamon is "very" similar to MATE. they are both offshoots of Gnome2 and a lot of things that work in MATE work in a similar way on Cinnamon.

For example the DBus Inhibitor
DBus["session://org.gnome.SessionManager"]["/org/gnome/SessionManager", "org.gnome.SessionManager"].Inhibit(Identity, Application.Id, Reason, Flags)
That'll work on both MATE and Cinnamon but not on others i've tried.

My guess would be whatever works for MATE (secret-tool) would "probably" also work on Cinnamon

Yes, I think so.

But it's more complex than that, because there are a lot of different tools for storing passwords on Linux, beside the KDE and Gnome tools.

For example, someone may want to decide to use the 'pass' tool even on KDE or Gnome to store the passwords. Only the passwords managed by KDE or Gnome applications will be stored in their own safe

At the moment, I will stay with 'secret-tool' on non KDE systems. I didn't find a way to store/retrieve passwords outside of this tool (like on KDE where there is a DBus API). If someone have more information about that, he will be welcome!
