Just a question: Are you on the latest stable version or master?
And what exactly are you doing in the database when the connection error occurs, so I can do some testing. Are you using gb.db2 components or still on gb.db?

Curious as I run mariadb as well, but still on 3.19 using gb.db
I will be making teh move some day so, I can do some testing in a VM.
