I noticed the change in URL (same this time it seems)
it's like it changes from the usual OBS server to another one ftp://gwdg.de

like it's defaulting (fallback) to an invalid repository or something?

I dunno , but certainly the last time we had this problem the url's changed
to gwdg.de for a short time.
then they returned to download.opensuse.org and worked again.
