It was not clear that the message had no subject until after i had sent it. :( And the answer took a little investigating. I have to click a menubutton to the left of the address and select "Edit subject" then it opens with a subject edit box. if it is not possible to initially send a message with no subject then I won't be able to make the same mistake. As I said, and I think Christof agrees, it's a rare occurrence. And, accidents happen :-) Gmail, in it's infinite wisdom, has decided to make it non-intuitive to edit a Subject.
