Actually not really.

When you open the translation dialog, it chooses a translation to begin 
with, but you don't have to use it.

You can add the "common Spanish" translation, and if you don't touch the 
default one chosen by the translation dialog, it will be automatically 
removed (all void translations are automatically removed).

So you should end with exactly the translations you want.
