Indeed! They are after all, conventions only.
The only real need is that the package name in the distro is unique! You 
could call that package "gambas-on-toast" if you wanted to.
The only thing about insisting on using gambas-devel is that I would 
think it was an optional package containiing header files and thus think 
it was not needed.

"gambas-devtools" or whatever, suits me. It looks like something special 
and I would be reading the comments in the RPM file to find out more.
