To me, that looks like less than what we have now. Mailman provides for viewing by thread, subject, author, and date. And, I
like being able to browse the messages.

Xapian(/Omega) [https://xapian.org/]? It should be in the Debian repo.

Well there's a good clue. I wonder if MLMMJ has added any archive format options in the last five years. Doubtful. I don't see
any such option in the docs. Nor can I see from that ticket what was done to resolve the merge issue. So...
I installed MLMMJ, added a list and a subscriber to that list, and tried to send mail to the list using mlmmj-send. That
obviously doesn't work, and so I am currently stuck on wading through (ie. understanding) http://mlmmj.org/docs/readme-postfix/.
