You don't have Xorg-devel (or XFree86-devel) installed.  Anyway, I 
just made packages of 1.9.6 for Mandrake 10.1 this afternoon, even 
though I haven't formally announced them... maybe you should see if 
they work.  Or download the src.rpm and try to rpm --rebuild it... at 
least it should tell you which packages you need to install.
