But Claus by definition ReadOnly means the value CANNOT be changed by the user.

if the control is readonly then the value should not be able to change by the user only via code.

it makes no sense to allow it to change when readonly is true and a change like that will break other peoples software who expect a readonly control to not be adjustable by the user.

if you want to allow the user to change the value via the buttons/keys then set ReadOnly to false
