Are you sure that it actually freezes? I think it is long to display.

Displaying all software farms takes 11 seconds on my computer before the first software shows with 'gb.gtk3', and 0,5 seconds with 'gb.qt5'.

There is obviously a problem in 'gb.gtk3', but I don't know which one exactly, except some natural GTK+3 slowness.
