To add to that, you will find the postinst script in this merge request on GitLab:
https://gitlab.com/gambas/gambas/-/merge_requests/403/diffs

So, have a look. In Debian/Ubuntu if you add a script named postinst to the package recipe, it will run that post install (as the name indicates). I suppose this is possible on other distro's as well.
