There's no need whatsoever to apologize for taking your time especially when it's a family day. (For me, it's the sabbath, but

I noticed at the end of the video that it looked like launching Gambas logged you out of your desktop. Perhaps this is a GTK 
issue. You're using Mate (which uses GTK), correct?

In a QEMU/KVM Mint 22 - Cinnamon Edition VM, following the OBS instructions for xUbuntu_24.04, Gambas installed and launched 
successfully.

Perhaps I should try the MATE Edition.
