oops sorry ,
yep it even said 24.04 in my paste of the /etc/upstream-release/os-release
info. :-\
silly me  i meant 24.10 , i added 24.10 by accident and had similar errors
as you then setting to 24.04 and it worked okay, that's the only reason i
thought to mention it.

Clearly i am no help here.  (slinks away quietly)
