<p>I test your program in my system (xfce desktop) the file manager
(Thunar) open but start the counter without wait for closed
thunar.</p>

doesn't work as you say for directories but it does for files.</span><br>

I am using Desktop.Open(User.Home,True) which, if I understand the
command correctly, should open the File Manager and wait until the
File Manager is closed before continuing. The open part works but
the command never returns control to the program. It just hangs.
