I have found a weird behaviour of gcc: if I tell gcc that the interpreter function that throws errors never returns (the syntax is '__attribute__((noreturn))', then gcc becomes mad and 10x slower to compile the JIT code.<br>

But I'm not sure that gcc would recognize that as a bug if I report it.<br>
