This seems like I'm just blowing my own trumpet or a shameless plug but I
think the facts do have merit ;)

The install/compile script i wrote handled the update perfectly :)

I use it all the time to update/compile/install.
Just by pressing return (then typing my pw) ....
It did a 'git pull' and found a new commit, detected the new dependency
added and auto installed it for me , then did all but ./reconf-all (as i've
set it that way)  :)
