Re 2. below - to clarify further.

The custom control constants, "_Properties" etc are directives to the IDE, they do not directly convey information to the interpreter. In other words, they don't "automatically generate the code you may have assumed". In fact, what you should assume is that they only affect how the custom control will work in the IDE.
