Digging a little bit deeper I have discovered the following:

1. Mate is a fork of the Gnome2 project and is the default desktop used by  
Linux Mint.

2. When running the program, Desktop.Type = "?"

3. I believe this problem can be fixed if there is a way to get Gambas to  
recognize Mate as a Gnome desktop, as I believe it uses the same keyring  
system.
