Apparently this is a bug related to the GTK+ style.

Can you try to change the GTK+ widget theme and see if then Gambas works?

Can you try to run the qt-config program to change the Qt4 widget style,  
which by default use the GTK+ theme on Ubuntu, to a native Qt4 style?
