Benoit,

   You come through again!  I really don't care about the syntax.  I'm vary
pleased that there is a mechanism to do this.  I was afraid I'd have to
write a wrapper to duplicate the original library calls and add accessor
function for the variables.  If the system call works, it will save me a ton
of work!  Thank you SO MUCH for all your help.
