I did had the same experience as described in the masage.

I can't work with gambas now by switch SuSE to Kubuntu at home 
and at work from SuSE to win98se with free VB6 'working model'

I need to know first more the how-to with Kubuntu for fine tuning of it.
For the project working on I can fall back on large codebase I made
in the past for same kind of job and progress is high speed now.

Reinventing the code with gambas cost to much time with the 
unexpected behaviors of it and missing the database bound controls.
The advanced form printing is one of the problems.

BTW
The reason for Kubuntu is the mess with SuSE 9.2 version after it
is changed to openSuSE/Novell to get the libraries for poppler/svn etc.
