Aalib, an ASCII Art Library, is installed according to YAST2.  So then I 
went and installed AAlib-devel, and it configured and maked correctly!  
So now I have a nicely compiled usable install of Gambas 1.0.2 on my 
Linux laptop.  Thanks!
