Maurizio, Thank You for the reply.

I do not need to tell you that your suggestion was a workaround. I 
already use something like 'if not enabled then return.'

I was asking for input about a widget that should be laying dormant but 
in fact is active.

Like tabbing about the form, the tab does not land on a NOT ENABLED 
widget. I should think that the mouse would have the same effect.

Any more?
