I suspect it has something to do with either the red popup msg showing the error msg or word highlighting.

"something" is swallowing the mouseup event from the texteditor.

It seems to only be on the highlighted blue error line i get the problem.

also it seems to happen more with a fast double click.
A slower double click seemed more likely to open the popup object viewer window and when it does the mouse seems okay.

but too fast a dbl click and no window opens and the mouseup has been eaten by something.  
(the double clicked word does become selected so the dbl click event IS triggered initially)

That's about the best I can explain it.
I guess it will have to be something you experience yourself before you can figure out a cure.
