Nope that didn't fix things. I am getting other problems like the following issue causing trouble with your new routines

DBus.Session.Exist("org.freedesktop.portal.Desktop")  returns False
DBus.Session.Applications.Exist("org.freedesktop.portal.Desktop")  returns True

You may have to set up a Fedora38 VM to fix this one my friend.
