I confirm that forcing the display resolution to something different from 96 DPI breaks 'gb.gtk3'.

The font size does not take it into account, whereas text size functions do! Hence the broken text, and maybe the other symptoms.

Can you set your DPI back to normal so that you can tell me what happens? Test both "automatic detection" and "96 DPI".
