Well the un-retrievable console only ever happened once for me.

Okay, I find if i select the Auto-hide option and set transparent handle then i cannot see it, even when debugging it does not open, i cannot expand it at all.

If i have not selected transparent handles then there is a small bar that when hovered it expands the console.
