After a routine system update of LinuxFX 11.2 some programs included with the distribution fail with:

mario at mario-inspiron7548:~$ cd /usr/bin
mario at mario-inspiron7548:/usr/bin$ ./control
ERROR: #2: Cannot load class 'FrmSplash': Bytecode too recent. Please upgrade Gambas.
mario at mario-inspiron7548:/usr/bin$

The LinuxFX support suggested updating gambas as follow:

rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/gambas*
sudo apt-get purge gambas*
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gambas3

The install of gambas3 failed with:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 gambas3 : Depends: gambas3-examples (>= 3.16.3-3) but it is not going to be installed
 gambas3-gb-chart : Depends: gambas3-gb-gui (>= 3.16.3-3) but it is not going to be installed
 gambas3-ide : Depends: gambas3-devel (>= 3.16.3-3) but it is not going to be installed
               Depends: gambas3-gb-jit (>= 3.16.3-3) but it is not going to be installed
               Recommends: gambas3-examples but it is not going to be installed
 gambas3-scripter : Depends: gambas3-devel (>= 3.16.3-3) but it is not going to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

I wasn't able to get more help to install gambas from the LinuxFx support.

How can I do a correct install of Gambas3?
