I think it would be better if any "make install" parts failing actually produced an error, 
then halted the process with an error value like ./reconf-all ./configure and "make" do.

then the gitlab pipeline jobs would catch these errors. 

Also because my installer programs have to end with "now check the output for errors" as "make install" parts fail without raising any error.

Do you think it is possible if any "make install" parts fail to compile the script could throw/exit with an error?
