It's not just xed with a bug like that though. i have seen it in other applications.

I guess it is because there are no small icons for some gambas types just 256x256 only

Maybe additional smaller copies of the 256x256 icons will help?

attached are 48px of gambas3 and script types (i already had a 48px x-application-x-gambas3 installed)
