More detail, If the font is changed to a larger font say 10 to 12, then when i exit the ide and return
the displayed font is actually the original 10 point font.

It looks like the ide ignores the font set for the editor at startup, if you change the font size in the editor
the text is immediately messed up, chopped characters.

But again if you exit and restart the ide, the actual settings are ignored.
It reverts to 10 point, in testing it looks like upon enlarging the font, the editor still uses the original
10 point spacing to calculate positions and sizes, not the actual font dimensions.
