I don't know if this is helpful, testing the behavior on Wayland with both Ubuntu 20.04 and Ubuntu 22.04, this differs between the libraries.
With GTK (Theme=yaru) libraries the combos behave correctly.
With QT (Theme=proxy), on the other hand, there is popup shifting as per the first video.
