Hi Benoit, you're probably correct.
Actually, I've been able to find several solutions for QT here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2050462/prevent-a-qmenu-from-closing-when-one-of-its-qaction-is-triggered#2054884.
On the other hand, I've only found a suggestion for GTK without any actual proof that it works (or even that it is actually doable): https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2150899/making-a-python-gtk-checkmenuitem-when-clicked-not-close-the-menu.
At least, these threads show that there is a generalized interest for this kind of behavior, FWIW.
