Of course. This is the case for all softwares, not just Gambas.

You can't install a software from sources in the same directories used by the binary packages. It breaks the package manager.

By default, the source package usually uses the same installation prefix than the generated binary packages. You have to carefully install the software compiled from sources in a different prefix.

Once the binary packages installed, you then have two different Gambas versions installed, so it's a bit tricky to choose which one to run.

Benoît MINISINI changed the state of the bug to: Rejected.
