I tried a lot, and got a placement problem only twice (with QT5).

With GTK+3, switching borders creates a visual artefact that disappears as soon as you resize the window.

All that seems to be window manager bugs, and I guess the behaviour will depend on which one you use.

Can you try commit https://gitlab.com/gambas/gambas/-/commit/ddc985ce088014407bddb6659391e41662d057eb? I changed how QT5 applications are synchronized with the X11 server when the border flag is toggled. Maybe it will change something on your side?
