Check out the desktop launcher in the clip.
The bottom panel and the desktop icons are a gambas app i've just written (wip).
It's reading my Desktop folder for the main icons and my Mate panel folder for the panel bar.
I can even right click the Gambas3 launcher and get my recent file list :)

gb.desktop is awesome :)
