In all cases, X and Y are relative to the parent of the control or form.  For a top level window, like most forms, including yours, the parent is, effectively, the desktop or screen.  There are special cases where the parent of a form can be another form (mdi, embedded programs).  In fact, some Gambas controls are actually forms whose parent is your form.
