The current size of the panel class seems inappropriate to me. I think 4x4 would be better for the following reasons:
the panel is used as a space / fill object,
It is easier to enlarge the panel than to shrink it, especially when there are many objects in a graphical interface.
It is also common to use it for keypads, where only the width is enlarged and the height of 4 is left.
I think the predefined size should be 4x4.
