How to access Variables from gambas embedded in shared libraries

I have been doing this for a while.

I thought others may have had to do the same or similar  things with 
Linux libraries.

The sample  app accesses all the variables in the readline library.

It would also be nice if the compiler extern allowed to define shared 
variables in a library using this technique

as in

extern rl_point as integer in  "libreadline:8"

not just functions.

Anyway I hope this helps someone trying to do the same thing.
