I have been updating all my scripts and libraries, apps, to 3.22 version and have had an issue with old libraries using gb.eval.highlight with apps that I have updated to gb.highlight, some using the 'sh' highlight.
Suddenly when I added that new component replacing gb.eval.highlight, apps started crashing saying that 'sh' was not found.... libraries where wrong! It looked like the library highlight component was overriding the App component... umm.
Is there someway for the runtime/compiler to check that compatible versions of components are used between libraries and Apps. I understand this is transitory, but somewhat unpredictable. Or maybe I am not configuring the app lib usage correctly. I am using the 'use' directive.
When old memory systems like me are involved thing are forgotten, perhaps checked during the compile phase of the app.
Anyway it is annoying to have working apps crash, and take some time to figure out why..
On the plus side, able to fix up libraries, found lots of missed behaviors using the two pass compiler. And some stupid variable reuse in loop errors too.
been a lot of fun.. :-( -- ~~~~ Brian
