I've looked into the problem a bit more.

Does this information give you any clues?
Is makepkg version 6.0.2-6ubuntu2 the latest version for Ubuntu?
Do other Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS users have the same problem, 
or are they experiencing the same issue with Linux Mint or other distributions?
