Re: Error trying to build appimage on 24.04 ubuntu/ mint 22.1

A seen before, I recompiled my app and forced the byte code 3.18, and the compiler to -b 3.18

set the ubuntu repository to 22.04. the app now builds/works correctly. So will explore the latest version of ubuntu

and latest bytecode version now.

I actually have very little idea just how it works, have been able to mount them and browse through, they look to contain

everything, but notices a lot of conversion errors during the 24.04 build regarding utf-8 files. Does anyone know if this is normal?

i can execute the binary from the mounted appimage, and all the gambas executables as well.

Checked the appimage config created and it looks pretty much the same as well.

The build complained that it did not include the /usr/bin/env command that some of my code uses

also many of the gambas binaries seemed to have bad header bytes.. utf-8 stuff.

When I revert to the previous version of ubuntu repository, it will actually start but complains that the byte code generated is too new..

After building the app-image for my app i get the error.

APPRUN_ERROR: No such file or directory

I tried to look at the config and it looks to start the correct file...

Any ideas where I should look?

the appimage built on ubuntu 22.04/mint 21  worked fine it seems

Here is the output from the build

CREATING PACKAGE FOR APPIMAGE.

without any success.

I hope you can solve this.
