I would think that if the server didn't start, you would get something like "Unable to connect" in the browser. Maybe try `wget 
http://localhost:8080/` to see if the server actually is running. If it is, then it is more likely an issue with the display of 
the WebForm. I don't know, but perhaps you could try commenting out the Timer.

It works here with Gambas 3.20.2 when running the IDE with gb.qt5 or gb.gtk3 and with both the Internal browser and external 
Chromium.
