What happened to gb.db2?

Since gb.db2 arrived, I've been updating a ton of projects due to the
different way it handles the .Fields collection and anticipating that
sooner or later the obsolete gb.db component would disappear.
This morning, using the development version, I received the message that
the gb.db2.sqlite component doesn't exist. "Oh, right, it's the development
version!" I said to myself. I uninstalled it and installed the stable
version, and surprise! It doesn't exist either.
Are they gone forever? Was all this updating work for nothing?
