I use Netbeans as my Java IDE and it is very flexible in this matter. I took some screenshot snippets that might give you some ideas. I hope they pass the gmail/mailing list test, heh. FWIW, I prefer the left (or right) tabs placement on a widescreen monitor as long as the size and resolution are sufficient. These tab 'columns' are also easier to scroll up or down. Regards, Joe1962
