Yes, adding the new class to the component would be the final phase of development, but making the terminalfilter classes exported and making the changes needed to support that would allow to develop the emulations without having to rebuild the project every time, then when the emulation was ready to simply add it and make a pull request. This would also allow the extension of emulations for users special needs.
