This is a general GTK issue i believe and not just web gui.

Controls just do not always select properly with gtk,
I have started to favour the IDE with qt because of objects not selecting properly, that and the grab-handles for resizing object often do not initially work and might take a few attempts.  qt does not have the same issues.

I get the same issue Omar has reported with his application using gtk but no problems with qt.
With gtk sometimes the object does not get selected when i click it.

Omar, do you get the issue if you run the IDE using the qt toolkit?
